Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
