How these Denver Broncos together with the malleable quarterback can halt that Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following recent talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending more than four pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

Early on of the season, we said on a program how the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver are a team aiming to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in positive situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to deliver throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great poise under pressure and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems the coach likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix helps shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
